We have had one full day to explore SA. Can you believe that we have been freezing?! It’s cold and windy, so much so that we went out and bought slippers for the kids. To put it into perspective, it has hailed, sleeted and snowed since last night. We can see our breaths in the house! (There is no heat here…or air conditioning.) We began the day having breakfast with the Weinberg’s and then went into town to explore the sights. Although the weather has been dismal, it is so beautiful! The mountains are breathtaking. We are soaking in all of the sights, smells and sounds. Everyone is speaking to us in Africans, so we must blend in. We are looking forward to seeing more once the weather lifts.
We have had a change in plans as far as our work here. The building here at the camp is not ready to build , so in the mean time Ted and Jason are going to build a church in Malmesbury. Once that is complete, they will begin to work here at the PMR.
Today we went to the Malmesbury church which is temporarily meeting at a local school. We were encouraged by the message which was focused on Romans 12:1-5, and 1Peter:4. It was a nice reminder to put others first and strive to live each day to please God. The people are warm and friendly and very hospitable. Several of the ladies from church have volunteered to bring lunch to the guys each day.
We are feeling so grateful to be here, hopeful for the opportunities ahead. We know that this is where the Lord wants us right now, and that is an amazing feeling!
Until next time… Hugs!
In His Service,
The Boxes

It sounds as though you are already having an adventure — with the weather! Since you didn’t mention to the flight there we presume 18 hours on a plane was uneventful?? Those sweaters and slippers will feel really good. Let us know if you need anything shipped to you. We look forward to reading your blog on a regular basis and especially look forward to seeing photos since we know how many cameras you have.
Love to all, Mom/Grandma Susie

Greetings-It’s so nice to hear from you. Sounds like things are going well. It’s 105 here- so too bad we can’t blend our environments. We are cheating by your standards though-using lots of air conditioning. Not much new on this end-just been looking to hear from all of you!! How far away is Malmesbury from where you’re at? Does this change what you and the kids will be doing while you’re there? We’re waiting for Dom and Marilyn to come for dinner so best start helping. Hope to hear from you all soon.
We’re very thankful that you are there safe and sound!!
Love,
Mom/Nana

Wow! Your weather report reminded me of our stay at the Andrew Murray Mission House in Cape Town in August of ‘57 where we boarded a Union Castle Line ship for London. Your mom was seven years old at the time and will remember the cold weather that greeted us there. We were so happy to have you with us for those few days last week and know you will be so blessed and fulfilled by what the Lord has in store for you in the months ahead. Keep in touch and blog us as often as you can. Our love to each of you. Grandpa and Grandma M.

AHHH! You’re there!! I’ve been gone for the last week, and was praying you arrived safely! So glad to hear it! Isn’t it awesome knowing that whatever the future holds, you’re exactly where God wants you?? I can’t wait to hear what He has for you there. Praying!

Hi there!! So nice to hear from you! Glad things are well and you all are fine…..gosh, seems like construction projects in South Africa are not much different than in the States….hurry up and wait! Delays!
Glad Jason has a project to fall back on. I’ve been tracking the weather there….really looks cool but also looks like it may warm just a bit soon….I’m so glad you’re happy there…please stay in touch!
Love you all!!

I must be doing something wrong.
I write in the Blog, but I never see it again?
Perhaps I will get it this time?
We have been getting the Blog with other people’s messege.
We shall write more once we see it working!
